Sears Warranty is a SCAM!! Sioux Falls, South Dakota
6th of Dec, 2011 by User502213
I attempted to file a claim for a microwave that was (by my receipt) still under the 3 year protection plan that was purchased in October 09. I was told that they don't sell 3 year plans for small appliances and they would not warranty the unit.
My receipt is quite clear that they do, in fact, sell that combination! Either they need to 1) train their salespeople better, or at least back up their mistakes, 2) get a computer system that doesn't allow an extended warranty to be sold with an incompatible product, or 3) quit scamming customers and not backing up their defective products! I suppose they're hoping no one will remember, or be able to find, the receipt to follow up when their junk quits working.
Do NOT waste money on extended warranties from Sears. They do a very poor job, or no job at all, of following through on their promises!!
