SCHER TIRE, INC #15 GOODYEAR OIL CHANGE TURNED INTO EXTENSIVE DAMAGE COSTA MESA, California

I needed an oil change on my 04 Honda and went to a local Scher Tire and Service station in Costa Mesa CA. for the service. It was completed within 30 minutes. Within 40 miles I discovered a lot of oil dripping from under the engine/transmission area. I checked the dip stick and it showed as being overfilled by at least two quarts. I returned with the car to the business. The manager put the car on the hoist and showed me the problem. He pointed out that the oil pan had blown it's gasket. I mentioned that the oil was overfilled twice but he refused to talk about it. He avoided the issue of the overfilled crankcase and gave me an estimate of approx $200 as shown on the slips. The repair took over four hours to complete. Upon picking up the car I found that black grease was smeared on the interior of the door, seat, backrest, steering wheel, and floor mat. The manager directed me to take the car to a nearby auto detailing business to clean the damage. This required another wait of over two hours. The floor mat is ruined beyond hope. I will try a carpet cleaner. I am convinced the overfilling caused the oil pressure to be high which caused the blown gasket.
Upon reading the first work order the technician was ordered to install 5 quarts oil and filter.
The second order was for 3.5 quarts and filter. I called the Scher Customer Relations department and they gave me a number to report the incident. (1-800-221-2136) Case #1191931. That number is busy 24/7.
