SANTANDER CONSUMER USA Defrauded me about retrieving my vehicle after after they new that I had been ill and out of work. Tricked me into paying mone

For the past year I have been ill and I have kept in touch with Santander. I have had horrible time with repairs on the account and given deferment to assist with getting the car up and running.

I had surgery and was out on sick leave and I explained this to Santander time and time again, however on the mornig of Friday May 13, 2011 I phoned Santander that I had finally returned to work and that Iwanted to make a payment on my car which was at the time 86 days past due.

The individual told me that I could go ahead and make the payment and then when I made the payment to phone back into Santander and ask to be placed on something called a TRIP reductionl. This supposedly is something that the company will do when a costumer has lost income Santander would lower their payments for up to 6 months.

Well when I got off of work this same evening the car was gone and whe I phoned Santander they told me that I needed to pay them about $1778.00 to retrieve the car. I explained that I didn't have that much because I had just went back to work and hadn't got a full paycheck. I

I then asked why the individual that I spoke to earlier that morning didn't tell me that all of this was in motion. They lowered the amount to $950.00 which would be the actual amount that I was behind. I told them that I would money gram the funds to them when I got paid on the 17th which was four days away.

They then informed me that according to Nevada law an individual has ten days to retrieve their vehicle and after which they send to the auction.

Between the four day time frame I contacted Santander to continue to remind them that I would be making the payment and that I needed to retrieve my children's clothes and my personal belongings out of the vehicle. They gave me the number to phone C and G Asset Recovery and when I phoned them the individual that answered the phone and was very rude and told me that if I didn't have the funds to retrieve my things they would throw them out. I explained to them that I had just gone back to work and the items in the car were important especially my son's basketball uniform and there shoes and clothing.

They stated that I had to make an appointment to get my things and the only days I could retrieve them was on Tuesday and Thursday and that when I returned to pick up my vehicle I would have to pay storage fees, towing fees, and fees to retrieve my children's clothes as well as a charge for the key to the car even though I would be retrieving the vehicle.

I told them that I was calling the Better Business Bureau and the guy to me "please do so and go straight to hell with your broke a** thats why we have your car"

So I get paid on Wenesday the 17 and I only have a portion of the money and I borrow the other $500.00 and I money gram it to them and then call them and give them the reference number.

When I gave them the reference number the lady started telling me about another set of charges and I asked her if she could call C and G Asset Recovery and inform them that I had made the payment and that they could release the car to me. She said hold on and did so.

But when she returned to the phone she finally gave me their information and I phoned them and asked when I could pick up my car. The same man that use the derrogatory remarks towards me answered the phone and I told him that I needed their address to pick up my car. He then informed me that my car was sent to Salt Lake Utah that same morning.

I phoned the finance company and they confirmed everything that he told me. I was crying and I asked them what was I supposed to do now that I have given them every cent that I had to my name. They told me that I needed to go up to Salt Lake City and get my car.

I told her that I was not in any condition to travel and the car wasn't in any type of shape to be driving state to state.

She told me that they wouldn't transport the car back.

I phoned money gram to see if they could stop the issuance to Santander and after telling him what happeded ihe did a confrence call with Santander and the young lady that answered the told the man on the phone that I had not phoned anyone in their reinstatement department, I started yelling that they were lying and the man said that we needed to work it out it was out of their hands and hung up.

So they tell me that they are going to get my truck back to Vegas, however I will have to pay all of the delivery fees and also storage fees and any other fees that are charged before I can retrieve my truck and my childrens clothing.

I have spoken to Santander and did everything I could to ensure that nothing would go wrong with the retrieval process.

I am a single mom of 4 children who are active in everything that you can think of and then I am a student in college.

I have had to rent a car with my credit card and I am now in the position where its time to turn it in but I don't have a plan B..

I have phoned the Better Business Bureau, Nevada State Institution Commission for Finance and Loans, State of Nevada License Investigators, The State of Texas Commissions, the State of Nevada Transportationg Services, and a local attorney here but no one can assist me and no one knows just who it is that can regulate or over see this company.

It seems as though they can do what ever they want to me and nothing will be done about it.
