Royal Knight Security
Royal Knight Security theft, lied, fraud Chico, California
29th of Dec, 2010 by User714583
I have been trying to find a place in my area, to get my Security Guard card. In the State of California, you start by taking an 8 hour class called "Powers to Arrest" and "Weapons of Mass Destruction". I thought I had finally found a place, when I contacted Royal Knight Security. They said that they would do the training in Chico. Which was within the county bus route. So on 12-08-2010 I agreed to take the class. I was told that class would be held on 12-15-2010 from 9am-1pm. Then the final 4 hours from 12-16-2010 from 9am-1pm. They said they did the split class, so that people who work could better attend.

So I was really excited about being able to take the class. While on the pone with them on the 8th, I was told I had to go down and prepay, but if I was uncomfortable with that, they would take payment on the day of the class. I wanted to secure a spot, so on 12-10-2010 I went down and used my Capital One card to pay them the money. I verfied with Robin, who was one of the teachers, that the class would be held at that location, on 12-15 and 12-16-2010. From 9am-1pm. I was assured that everything was set and class would go on.

So on 12-15-2010 I woke up at 6am and rode the bus down, getting there with plenty of time. I ate breakfast, and waited for 9am. I walked the couple of blocks and got there at 8:45am. I figured that was too early, so I hung out a short distance away listening to music, on my mp3 player. At 8:55am I went over there and knocked on the door. No answer, I noticed they had one of those old fashioned blue and white "will return" clocks. and it was set for noon. I figured that couldn't be right, and looked at the class schedule they had taped to the window. Sure enough the Powers to arrest class was on there for that day. I knocked again, every 5 mins or so, and got no response. at 9:20 I left to catch the next bus back up the hill.

I e-mailed them on the 15th, when I got home, and again either the night of the 18th, or the morning of the 19th. I asked for the return of my money. I got no response. I have since called the credit card company and filed a dispute, but they are waiting 30 days for Royal Knight to explain their side of the story. As I have still not heard from them, I am filing a complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs, and with this website Ripoff Report.

Please do not be suckered in by them, they will take your money and give you nothing to show for it.
