My experience with Ross Emmick and Southwest Wallbeds didn't turn out very well. I found him on Craigslist advertising quality wall beds at an affordable price.What a joke Ross wanted me to send him a check for $800 as a deposit for a $1500 Murphy Bed. However, I was uneasy about sending him this much money since I had never done business with him. I asked him for references and he said he would send them. Finally, after 3 requests he sent the references to me. By the time I received responses back from his supplied references, it was just a couple days before his promised delivery date, so I figured it would be best to just give him the check for the entire amount when he arrived, which he promised to do at 11:00 Saturday morning. I confirmed this delivery date and time with him on Friday afternoon. 11:00 came and went, and finally at 11:30 he called, was rude and abusive and demanded $1700, $200 more than the previously agreed upon price or he would sell the bed to someone else. Apparently, someone else found him on Craigslist and offered him more money, so despite our previous agreement he felt the extra $200 was all it would take for him to go back on his word. With ethics and professionalism like this, I can only hope his career as a contractor is short lived. After doing a Google search, I discovered I was not alone, he has left a trail of broken promises, dissatisfied customers and unreturned deposits all over Arizona and Southern California.
