I signed a contract with Roger Garza and his company Robec Entertainment Management Group/ Robec Music Group to promote my latest CD. Roger claimed to have big time connections and be associated with Lil Wayne and his company Young Money. He claimed he had all kinds of radio station connections and he would get it out to all of them and they would give it a legitimate listen, which is all you can ask for. The contract consisted of a set dollar amount. A fee for his promotional services, and a set amount to be spent on promotions. After a few months it became obvious that Roger was a pathological liar with none of the connections he claimed to have. Just because you printed flyers for a Lil Wayne concert doesnt mean you work with him. When asked to give me receipts for the thousands of dollars I spent on promotions he kept saying he would get them over and not to worry. As weeks turned into months waiting for these receipts I became a little wary of if the money was actually spent on promotions. The majority of those promotions were for radio ads promoting the new CD. Finally after much prodding he didnt produce receipts but he did give me a detailed report of what time slots the radio commercials ran in and what the demographic was and all other kind of detailed info . That was all well and good but the only problem was that it was all Buls*it. I had already talked to the radio stations in question and they had confirmed no ads had ever been placed. He didnt know I knew and he sat there giving me a 20 minute detailed BS story, and a lecture on how hurt he was that I questioned his ethics. Just another of the many lies he told me. I finally confronted him on it and he proceeded to tell me he didnt need to give me receipts because I breached the contract. We both had the same contract and he knew there was no breach. And what would that have to do with giving me documentation for the thousands of dollars already spent. He just realized that I knew he was full of sh*t and the ride was over. He reacted by throwing a temper tantrum and telling me how bad my music was and how no one in their right mind would ever listen to it and much worse. This is from the guy who I was paying to promote me. Classy.. I told him Im glad he was a fan but that didnt change the fact that he stole my money. He responded by telling me if I didnt like it I should sue him like everyone else. It doesnt say too much about your company when you expect every contract to end in a law suit .Or maybe it says all you need to know about that company. Anyway, I decided instead of a lawsuit, (since I cant find him because he lied about where he lived too) it would be better to write this report and warn anyone else whos thinking about signing with him what has happened. He lied to me over and over again. There are plenty of legitimate promoters out there, so do your homework, because there and many like Roger too who will lie, and steal your money. Be warned hes out there looking for you. Dont be the next victim
