Ricksar Associates Rick Abdallah Ripped off for services: Extremely poor quality of services and complete disarray and disorganization of company Boc |

Ricksar associates and their head honcho, Rick Abdallah, talk a good sales pitch but for me at least brought me nothing but frustration and further accounting problems. On recommendation I traveled from NY to Florida in APril of 2010 to meet Mr. Abdallah and discuss business accounting services, and legal business structures he claimed he was competent in setting up. Nothing could have been further from the truth. After traveling 3 hours on a plane he kept me waiting for an appointment 3 hours. When we finally had our meeting, which lasted about 2 hours, he brought in another staff member and discussed with me all the things that could be done for filing tax returns I was late on, and one that had a deadline for October 15 2010. Being satisfied with the meeting after that time, and being told how his firm would proceed (all the while breathing in his second hand smoke for 2 hours), I proceeded home with the understanding I would send him a $5,100 retainer for all the work to be completed, as we also discussed setting up several business structures to aid in organization of my future goals. I sent him the $5,100 promptly, and then anticipated he would contact me with his progress on my case. I waited........I waited.........and still waited more............finally called his office in mid May and spoke to Mr. Abdallah. He told me they were diligently working on the materials and data I sent and that within a month the tax forms at least would be completed, and they would have the business structures finished by the fall. I waited 2 more months.....still no word from them............ I finally called back in September and asked them what they had done.....guess what? Nothing! They had even lost the data and materials I had sent. Spoke to several people there and Mr. Abdallah, who assured me they were going through a hard time, firing people et al, and that he would personally stay up late and get the tax forms done by the weekend. This never happened. i could go on, but lets just summarize by saying about 50 calls and emails of my valuable time went into trying to understand what they were actually doing with the $5,100 deposit I sent them. All in all, the tallied my deductions up which I could have done myself on my QUICKEN program, missed valuable deductions which I had to hire another local accountant to discover, did not set up any business structures as we discussed, and sent me my tax forms to be sent to the IRS on October 15 201 at 3:30 in the afternoon! All I had time to do was rush to the post office to send them in without even being able to examine all the mistakes they made. Nothing we initially discussed in April was ever completed, save the noted late arriving 1040's, they took forever to send me back my records so I could have another accountant clean up their mess, I still did not have the business structures they said they would complete, and I discovered that Mr. Abdallah was not even a CPA! They wasted 7 months of my time, lying on the phone about work they never even started, claiming often times that they had higher priority clients. They refused to return any of the $5,100 I paid them to do work I could have received from a factory accounting house for $1000. I would steer clear from this organization, or at least do not pay for any services until they are actually completed. |
