Hopefully you will read this report before giving Mr. Wayne a retainer before leaving his office. Unfortunately, I had to learn the hard and expensive way. Number 1: Absurd billing rates and hours billed. $325/hr. And yes you will pay that even for your initial consult, even if you decide to retain him. Do some lawyers cost more? Yes. However, in my book you SHOULD get what you pay for. And all I received was very AVERAGE service from Mr. Wayne. The number of hours I was billed for routine paperwork and simple court filings was double what the majority of any average paralegals do on a daily basis. So, in effect, he is basically making $650/hr!! Incredible, considering that his assistant surely handles the majority of his menial tasks such as mine. Number 2: No contingency fees. Did he tell you that you have a really good case and should go to litigation? I am willing to bet that he told you the same thing that he told me, along with his other swindled clients that have reported his below average performance on this site: that he cannot guarantee any court verdict or outcome of your case. Again, an attorney has every right not too guarantee his service, however, if you are looking for someone to "zealously" look after your best interests I would NOT use this attorney. You need to draw up a simple contract or file a generic court motion? Then Mr. Wayne could be of use to you, however, I would highly recommend negotiating his hourly rate before proceeding. Number 3: Customer service Don't let the word "associates" in the name of Mr. Wayne's title fool you. His one and only "associate" is not a lawyer, but simply his secretary/assistant. Mr. Wayne did respond to all inquiries promptly and professionally, but again, it always felt like he was just trying to earn a (large) paycheck, instead of displaying a genuine interest in my case. Conclusion, for the type of money that Mr. Wayne is charging, there is only word that comes to my mind.......RIPOFF!!! |
