| Richard Billington, QC. Lawyer from Calgary Alberta is a corrupt and unethical lawyer who skates through the legal system with lies. One man took his own life after Billington mislead and lied to Justice DB Mason in Calgary on an Anton Piller application. The application the lawyer made failed to inform the judge that the man was cooperating with police and authorities in a case against his client. The court order Billington filed with the judge asked that the man be prohibited from speaking to police or any other authority. This was a flagrant violation of the human rights of the man, and it took lies by a lawyer and fooling a judge with these lies to get it signed into effect. Billinton does not deserve to serve this profession. He is guilty of Criminal code violations dealing with misrepresenting and interfering with courts, in addition to legal professional failures. When the judge finally realized that the order Billington had slipped him to sign was a violation of his rights as a citizen, he immediately ordered the prohibitions lifted against the man. Billington did not file this order (to lift the pohibitions on the mans right to speak to authorities) for appoximnately nine months after it was ordered to do so by the judge. Unfortunately the man took his own life some 16 days after the order by the judge was granted.....the second order lifting the injustice upon him that Billington had placed. Billington is a criminal at very worst, a shame and am embaressement to the law profession at best. A man who got away with lies and seriuos violations of another human being's rights and the end result was the person killed themselves. Billngton is a specialist is the art of "suppression" of evidence, and prevention of fair trials. He is not a lawyer, he is the very man for whom every lawyer joke in the world is made after. |

| I agree with the above. I have found Billington to be a most dangerous and most untruthful person. He will say and do anything to further his own interests, and it is unfortunate to see him recognized as a professional. He is nothing of the kind. I will keep my post anonymous due to the knowledge of how this man can cheat the court system of the truth. A wise judge once said to me, "sometimes the legal system can be used to prevent justice". Mr. Billington has made his career by following that crooked path. |

| The facts of this case are on the public record, and they contradict the account contained above. Billington's practice fights fraudsters and he is nationally recognized for his expertise. During the above case, he rescued a major business that was subject to the misappropriation of its clients' personal data, he jailed a man for contempt of court for interfering in the court processes, and he was commended in his conduct of the action by the lawyer for the other side and by the presiding judge. A legitimate business has been saved by his conduct of this case. The defendant, who was represented by legal counsel throughout, had a man he never met contact him telling him to ignore his lawyer's advice, just as the case was about to settle. Billington was successful in this interprovincial case, using highly innovative strategies. Canadian Business magazine did a lengthy analysis of the case in their November 6-19, 2006 edition entitled "When the Whistle Stops". Court decisions on the case, in both Alberta and Saskatchewan are on the record and can be searched on the court websites. The reader can determine their own search terms after reviewing the article. Billington was ethical, successful and innovative. The complaint lies against those who interfered with the process, got stung, and have either not gotten over their defeat, or who have found others to meddle where they don't know the facts. |
