Decided on Thursday of last week (5/12/11) to order an accessory for my Samsung Galaxy Tab. Did a random google search to see who had the lowest prices, and was surprised to find an e-tailer in my state that carried the item, at a "better than most" price.. Completely failed to research the company, and now in every way regret dealing with them. Been over a week, order status still remains the same, "awaiting fulfillment," constant calls to their 800 number at all hours of day and night get me an immediate recorded message stating their office is closed with their office hours listed.. (Of course no matter what time you call you get this message.) Have sent 5 emails to them over the past week, all of which have gone unanswered. Sure enough they billed my credit card the day after my sale was placed, but have yet to have any correspondence from them what so ever. Avoid this company at all cost... www.redtagcellular.com or HD Discounts. They are either completely a scam, or a terribly run business! Stick with the names you know... Not worth supporting the "little, local guys," in the end you always end up paying more...

| So glad I saw this report before I ordered from them. I was in the same boat, searching for a cell phone accessory and being surprised by the price listed at redtagcellular. So surprised, though, that I did some research, and then I found this report. Sorry to hear about your problems with them; I thank you for warning the rest of us. |

Almost bought portable DVD player - cheaper than any other sellers offered - even cheaper than refurbished products - decided to make sure that it was not refurbished - even though it is not indicated on their website and got the answering machine say - We're closed for the day - our working hours 9am-4pm Easter Day Time?!!!
Decided to google for the company and that's what came out. Glad didn't order 'coz need player in a hurry since leaving in a week. |

Same thing happened to me! Ordered an HDD / DVD Recorder on 4/29/11 ... for the first few days it was marked as "Awaiting Fulfillment", then it changed to "Awaiting Shipment". I thought "cool!". Well, it's been "Awaiting Shipment" ever since!
I called the 800 number a few weeks ago and actually got someone. The guy who answered told me that they had received the wrong batch of HDD / DVD Recorders from the vendor and had to send them back and were waiting for the right ones to arrive. He said that other people had ordered the same product as me, and that I could get a refund if I want. Of course I was stupid and told him that I would give it another week and then call back!
Well, ever since then I have had the same difficulty in trying to contact them. The 800 number contains a voice message stating that they are "closed for the day" and that their regular business hours are 9 am - 4 pm EST. Well, I've called during their "regular business hours"! Also, I have just tried contacting them via their website for the past 2 days and no response so far!
Does anybody know the best way to report a (potentially) fraudulent company like this to the authorities? |

| Well, I finally got a response from HD Discounts today! They said that my order has been cancelled and I should see a credit on my card in 2 businesss days. So, we'll see ... |

| Same thing happend to me! Placed an order 4-23-11 and my card was billed 4-25-11 and nothing was shipped. Two weeks later I called and some guy picked up and seemed very confused sounded like a cell phone the 1-888 number went to. I was told that they did not have my part i ordered in and that he would call someone the next day then call me back to let me know when it would be shipped. A week goes buy and no call and nothing shipped. From that point on i could only leave meassages no one would pick the phone up. A day later i get and e-mail your order has been canceled! It is now 6-8-11 and NO refund!!! I still call the 1-888 number hear and there but it keeps saying there closed. Looks like there will be no refund. |

OK, here's an update on my situation ... the so-called "refund" that I was supposed to be getting on my credit card never showed up (surprise surprise!). So, after 4 business days (remember they promised me 2) I logged back into their website and sent them another nasty-gram basically saying that if they didn't give me a refund immediately I would report the incident to the appropriate authorities. Well, that got no response for several days now.
In the meantime, I've tried the 888 number several times again ... but keep getting the same "closed for the day" message. Today, I decided to go to the website once more and guess what .. I got a message saying that the "store is down for maintenance". Call me crazy, but I won't be surprised if the "store is down for maintenance" permanently fom this point forward!
I guess the next call will be to my credit card company ... |

BTW, I called my credit card company and they were able to reverse the charge on my account. They said that it will stay that way unless the merchant is able to prove that the item was delivered to me (which isn't going to happen!). |

1. All claims against the assets of HD Discounts must be made in writing and include the claim amount, basis and origination date.
2. The deadline for submitting claims is 09/17/2011.
3. Any claims that are not received by HD Discounts prior to the date set forth above will not be recognized.
