ReDriven Power Inc ReDriven defective wind turbines, poor service, poor quality control, Iroquois, Ontario |

We purchased a ReDriven 20KW wind turbine July of 2008. After many delays and cost over runs due to a dispute between ReDriven and the "dealer", (ReDriven said I had to purchase from this dealer) the unit was finally installed by another company January 2009. This company was going to become a dealer, but after experiencing poor support from ReDriven and seeing the product was defective, they chose not to become a dealer. This unit has produced little or no power since it was first installed January 2009 (It is now April 23, 2011). In fact most of the time it has been completely down. When it was running (Ussually for only a week or two before something else would break) It produced only a fraction of the power ReDriven claimed it would make. After waiting for over 2 years for the proper blades(original 20KW blades were defective, literally flying off of the turbine), we finally got the "new" blades from ReDriven. As is typical for ReDriven parts, they were defective right out of the box. ReDriven was made aware of this the day we received the blades January of this year. They have chosen to not respond to my emails or phone calls. With my frustration mounting, I filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has closed the case as "unresolved" and gave ReDriven a D+ rating. ReDriven has chosen to ignore me and the problems with their defective turnbines. I even have earlier emails from ReDriven actually admitting that my turbine is defective. Yet, they still choose to not make it right There are MANY other ReDriven cutomers with experiences like mine or worse. ReDriven (Chris Grant) if you are reading this, it is time to do the right thing and take your equipment back and refund my money. |

UPDATE TO 4/22/2011 post
Rather than even attempting to resolve the problems with their defective turbine (completely ignoring ALL of my phone calls and emails), ReDriven has chosen to send me a "cease and decist order", demanding I remove anything I have posted on the internet about ReDriven! They claim the information I have posted is untruthful and defamatory!!! WOW!! Talk about audacity!!!
As I have stated in my response to ReDriven I will not remove any of the posts I have made. Everything I have posted is THE TRUTH. Therefore it is not libelous, untruthful or defamatory.
Now they are also trying to pin the blame on the original "dealer "- Power Shacks. Power Shacks did not do the installation nor did they provide warranty. ReDriven (the manufacturer) is responsible for warranty and defective equipment - PER STATE OF CALIFORNIA R3 REGULATIONS. ReDriven is fully well aware of this, yet they seem to think they can just ignore it or somehow try to pass the buck.
ReDriven, I would like to remind you that the California Energy Commision is closely monitering these games you are choosing to play. If this continues to be unresolved, they may take action to delist ReDriven (Like they already have in the state of New York) as a qualified Turbine (which in my opinion they should have done 2 years ago). Do you really want to take the gamble of losing your rebate status in the State of California??
Again, CHRIS GRANT (owner of ReDriven), the choice is yours. Take your equipment back and provide a refund in full (WHICH I STRONGLY PREFER), or provide a working turbine as you are legally mandated by the State of California (5 year warranty from Manufacturer R3 form per California Energy Commision) and I will update this post with your choice of action (or lack of).
