Redplum lies to their advertisers and cheats them by inflating numbers of households that receive coupon books. They are overcharging clients for hand delivery and underpaying delivery people. If coupons were sent via the US Post Office as direct mail, it would be more difficult to inflate numbers because there are no mailboxes at abandoned houses. There are approximately 15 abandoned houses on my street alone. That adds up quickly. I am certain that the clients paying Redplum for advertising have no idea that an address does not mean that it is a household with people in it. I have repeatedly told delivery people that "nobody lives there" and watched as they ignored me and still threw them in the yard, on the stoop, and in the bushes. I have also called the 877 number to request that my address be removed from the hand delivered list and emailed the company via their website to no avail. I have never received a response and the litter continues at my house and also up and down the street. Redplum doesn't seem to care that they are ripping off Metro Detroit businesses. Maybe the delivery person is afraid to tell Redplum because they get paid per house instead of for a route or hourly. That is a scam too. This could go on forever until somebody notices. That is why I am reporting something that seems like a small problem but isn't and is possibly happening in other communities as well.
