I am currently fighting a $107 ticket for "going through a red light" in council bluffs. The picture shows my van going through a red light, but don't believe what you see in a picture. Have you ever looked at a photoshopped picture and believed what you saw? Like any privatized for-profit corporation, Red-Flex has it's quotas. During an appointment with the city attorney, I argued the legitimacy of this ticket.I didn't recall running a red light and It's a ticket issued for a high amount of money in a town known for its extremes, poverty and glitzy casinos. I am a safe driver, no points, no accidents. The attorney said: normally he'd overlook it but I was going 40 mph in a 35 an hour zone. Have you ever heard of such reasoning? I told him I could go thirty-five on my bicycle! So I told him I'd had the discussion with a local police officer that any ticket that is issued by a private company outside the control of the city court system or police, I didn't consider legitimate. For instance, I can't set a court date to argue the fact that I as a man, don't believe I ran a red light, but that the resulting photo computer system showed something that was inaccurate. It also isn't right to send this so called "debt" to some a wolf pack of Toledo, Ohio collection lawyers called Scheer, Green and Burke, Co. L.P.A. (419)243-2283, who have an agreement with credit-agencies and the ability to use wage garnishment., or to put my wife's name as the person they are trying to collect from. I've since read that Red-Flex can do something similar to photoshopping pictures which would normally show a yellow light, if their quotas for the month are low. This will come as the most devastating news to those who have paid these fraudulent predators. |

I live in Toledo, and the police department holds either weekly or month hearings on the red light tickets. You should call the Traffic section of the area you ran the light in and ask them if and when they do such a thing. And also I will let you in on a little known fact. They don't just take "pictures" they will actually have a video of running the light. Although, if they already sent you to collections it might be to late to try and fight it as I think when they send the first ticket in the mail it "should" have details of appeal. |
