DO NOT do business with these people.
I found Raha Bulldogs' site upon searching for English Bulldog Puppies in my area. Their website is poorly made, which I just assumed was a busy breeder's way of quickly, easily, and cheaply advertising their puppies. I emailed them using the email address provided and quickly received an extensive response detailing three puppies, exposing the price, and explaining what kind of home they would like their puppies placed into. I responded by asking why the puppies were such a low price, as the email advertised $420 each. I was told they only wanted to find them good homes, not to make a profit. That was the first red flag. There will always be some reason that a bulldog puppy is any price under $800 or so- they just don't go for that cheap.
So asked if all three were still available and the person said only two were still for sale. I asked if we could purchase a puppy for $350, they said they would take $390, and I then asked if I could meet the dogs. They neglected to answer back for two days. I then sent an email reminding them that I was still interested, then another email with a bit more of my information. Three days after the initial inquiry, I did a search for their company on the internet. I had done this a few days before, feeling suspicious of the alarmingly low price, and had found indication that they were involved in puppy shipping scams. I disregarded those, though, because I had been under the understanding that the breeders lived near me and that I would be meeting the puppy before any transaction took place, thus shipping scams did not worry me.
I sent one more email, asking if they were indeed located in my town and telling them I questioned their credibility due to my searches. Only after pestering them with four emails in a row did they send this response: "We already sold all our puppies and we have realized fake sellers are using our sites for fraud we don't have any puppies now for sale." This email came in the same broken English as all the ones before. I responded telling them I was extremely disappointed in their service and that I would be making a negative comment about them.
Here's the kicker- I was curious as to if my suspicions about them were legitimate so I emailed them from my husband's email address asking if they had any puppies left and if so how much. They responded with the same extensive description of three puppies that were supposedly "all sold" five minutes before. If that's not a scam, I don't know what is!
Though I did not lose any money from this ordeal, I know others have. People have reported Raha Bulldogs for falsely advertising free shipping, only to find out after paying up that there were no dogs at all. I would never pay for a dog I haven't met, but people should not take advantage of trusting individuals who might. I came away from this situation very disappointed that my dog would have a new sibling after all and that we didn't get a cute puppy at the low price that we got excited about. Call me stupid, but when the breed you love is on sale for half its usual price, you would get excited, too. I am thankful all that was hurt was my hopes, not my bank account.
So I repeat, DO NOT do business with these people. |
