Owner does not have standing to bring this Action. Owner lists himself as an individual owner. County records shows property owned by J. Thomey Trustee for Crut 2 Trust.
Owner failed to identify himself as his true name, preventing defendants from verifying identity and thereby denying defendant due process and ability to defend this Action. Besides, address which has been provided in court file, wrong (never exist).
FRAUD-owner attached to complaint cut and paste version of document reporting to be a month to month agreement. Tenant (we) has a one year lease not subject to a 30 day notice to quit + standard defenses.
Owner knows how to hide, escape, not show up anywhere, when needs to.

This owner is dishonest and deceptive. Last year, we were under considerable time pressure to move from the 4-Bedroom home we'd lived in for 6 years. We saw a listing in "Westside Rentals.com" at 14268 Lorne St., Panorama City, asking $1, 490. per month on a minimum one-year lease. They were also willing to negotiate some sort of lease-to-own option, and advertised that you could own the house with no credit report. The house was advertised by the owner, as being a 3-Bedroom; 1-Bathroom house. We were discouraged from making ANY telephone contact, being relegated to e-mail only.
We supplied all requested applications, references, employment info, etc. Within 24 hours owner sent us an email letting us know that we had passed their qualifications with flying colors. We requested being able to visit and see both outside and inside the house. It took over one week before the so-called property manager was available to meet us there and show the property. We were now within 48 hours of needing to vacate our existing residence.
Number 1, the existing tenant was still in occupation, with ZERO evidence that they were getting anywhere near ready to move out. Number 2, although the advertising and listing stated the house had 3 Bedrooms, there were only TWO bedrooms in the house. Two children were sleeping in the unfinished garage, and THIS is what the owner wanted us to accept as being a valid bedroom. When I brought this to the owner's attention, he got defensive, arrogant and abusive, told me I was a whining trouble-maker, and he wanted no part of my family as tenants.
These people are bad news, they have nothing but contempt for all rules of honesty, ethics, and human consideration. J. Thomey, Trustee in my opinion is a totally unfit landlord, and no-one in his right mind would ever sign a rental agreement with this individual. |
