WORST MOVE EVER!!! Here is the worst move story I have heard of. Quality Move estimated our total move to cost $1,495. It was promised to us that that rate would not change AT ALL as it was a special deal!! When they showed up at 11 pm on the latest date available for pick up, they said that they thought it would cost much extra as our items looked to be heavier than estimated. On top of that, they charged extra money for shrink wrap, blankets, etc, etc. The movers told me they were trying to save us money so wanted to lock in a weight estimate and charge us by that rate without ever actually weighing the items. The jerks just wanted to steal money right out from under us without us knowing the true low weight of our items. Luckily for me, I was a mover for four years so I didn't take this stupid deal. They seemed upset that I didn't take the deal and were rude the rest of the time. After loading the items they said they would call the next day with the weight. I talked to them the next day and they said that the weight was almost 1,000lbs heavier than what we were quoted at. Our original quote weight was estimated at 1, 395lbs. But after weighing it, they said the weight was 2, 120lbs, therefore they were going to have to charge us about $800 extra. I couldn't believe that they were trying to screw us over so badly. I knew for a fact they were wrong on the weight so I called the boss and pestered him about re-weighing it as I knew his guys were lying. The boss promised they would work that out before delivery with me. I investigated all of our furniture items from the company we bought them from that had exact weight amounts for each item and documented all of it. I figured out that all 16 of our boxes would have to weigh 90lbs or more a piece to equal their estimate after adding up the furniture weights. I laughed at this as all of our boxes are small to medium and weigh 30-50lbs on average. I called the boss and told him I had printed documentation of all furniture weights and he acted like he would try to figure something out over the phone. The 21 day deadline for our delivery came and went. No movers were to be seen or heard. At 25 days from pickup I finally heard from them at midnight which is ridiculous!!!! They said they would be dropping the stuff off in the morning. I asked to get it reweighed as they had promised to take care of and they said that if I wanted it reweighed it would cost me 70 cents per mile, plus charge me for the scale, etc. Also, I would have to take time out of my day to go with them. Why would I pay them any more money when I knew they already were going to rip me off? So the next morning they showed up, 5 days later than their maximum amount of days to deliver. They made me pay and sign documents before they would unload anything. What the heck could I have done about that? They sure push you around and take all your money like it's easy. Upon unloading all my items two of my boxes were missing and they had no idea where they were. Also, two other boxes had been damaged and one sliced open with a knife. Someone was apparently going through our stuff during the process. The two missing boxes had the most expensive items in them including 60 xbox games, dvds, and books. Of course the jerks would steal those boxes because all of our boxes were marked. We were supposed to pay $450 upon delivery, instead we paid $1,214. Talk about ripping us off and taking money we needed and planned to have. I got a good scale and personally weighed every single item including all the furniture to see how off they were on the weight. Upon weighing every single item with shrink wrap and blankets still on them the total weight was 1,261lbs. Their estimate when weighing it on their truck was again 2,120lbs. They were off 859lbs. The only thing that is excluded from that are the two medium size boxes they lost. Those boxes at most weighed 50lbs each. That would make the difference 759lbs. They overweighed it by that much???? How the crap is that possible? I called the boss and told him I re-weighed all the items myself and he couldn't believe it. He asked what kind of scale I used and tried to talk his way out of it. I said I would personally record weighing every item and file a major claim against him. I already started a claim. I also asked him what the heck happened to my boxes and he just kept saying he'd look into it. What a piece of junk company. I am so upset that I am going to search for every website that Quality Move is on and destroy their company for good. They messed with the wrong guy and they will hopefully lose thousands of good customers due to screwing with me!! The stress alone working with this company is enough to make anyone vomit
