I was so outraged about you not believing "Carmen" another consumer that filed a report about public storage and there lock policy. The name calling "really", now????
I've been at Marina Public Storage for quite some time now, and I could not tell you how many locks they have made me buy!!! because it has happened so many times!, and "NO" you can not bring your own lock!!!!! You have to buy only the one they sell!!! They tell you that you can not use or bring your own. They break yours off for being even a day late. I had two storage's there at one time. It is outrages! I finally emptied one, and every time I finally got paid up and ready to start moving my stuff out, they throw at me late fees that are crazy! and get this", on every single rent payment receipt it states that my payment method: Is (In Advance!). Another issue I have is the rent raises, and how it went from under a hundred dollars every month and is now $262.00, So on 05/31/2011 , I could only pay $ 240.00, My receipt reads as follows Rent:$262.00 Rent Tax:$0.00 Insurance: $0.00 Next Payment Due: 05/01/2011 Payment Method: In Advance. Next it reads as follows> Previous Balance Rent $262.00 Credits $0.00 Payment $240.00 Remaining balance $22.00 Fees $39.30 Total $301.00 Payment $240.00 Remaining balance $61.30. Did you get that My rent receipt date reads 05/31/2011 11:55:52 AM, than it says Next Payment Due 05/01/2011, I really don't understand that either! I do have other receipts with different fees for the locks that they made me buy!!!! and at one time they were charging for two locks per storage unit!
So if your saying they can't and don't make you buy there locks, because you know! "Well I hate to bust your bubble"!!!!! You are wrong!!!!!
