Protect America withheld information to trap me in a 1 year renewal after I already paid for 3 years Round Rock, Texas |

I called 7 months prior to contract end to cancel since I knew it was coming up to the end of the term. I was told had to wait until the end of the initial contract and the rep never mentioned I could send in early or was helpful at all in taking care of that for me. The rep never mentioned the fact that I would automatically be entered into a 1 year agreement at the end of the term. I can understand a month to month renewal but an automatic 1 year renewal is ridiculous in my opinion. I called in November to cancel like instructed but they said i had automatically entered into another 1 year agreement because my 3 year agreement ended on November 1st and I called 6 days later. They then told me I could buy out the contract for $280. I told them that was unfair and very deceptive. When I called in April I was never told I could send in an early cancellation and they knew my intentions at that time was to cancel since I had no need for it anymore. Instead I was told I had to wait until the end of the contract to do so even though they knew what I wanted in April. Their intentions are to withhold certain information to try and trap or deceive customers to stay longer with automatic renewals. They don't even send a letter prior to your end of contract stating you will be renewed automatically at this time. I told them I feel like I am getting the shaft and not being treated like the good customer I was for 3 solid years. I never missed a payment and I was always on time and this is how they treat good customers. Very dissatisfied. Do not do business with Protect America. They will gladly take your money but when it comes time to make separate ways they will try to suck you dry with no regard to your past history as a good customer. They suck!!! |
