Progressive Management Concepts Arizona - Scottsdale disappointment, Scottsdale, Arizona |

We rented a vacation home in February - described on VRBO as "beautiful", "perfect for families", and "outstanding dream". For this dream we paid $5200 for two weeks. The pictures showed a nicely furnished 4 bedroom 3 bath home with pool, hottub, and pool table. The map on VRBO indicated a property just west of Scottsdale Rd, south of Bell (completely the wrong property!). What the 1"X2" pictures didn't/couldn't show was that it was filthy - disgusting! An unknown liquid had been splashed up the walls, blood or snot was on one door and doorframe, someone had spit on the wall in the livingroom and it had run down and dried, the baseboards and bannisters were caked with dirt and grime. There were bootprints on two walls. Someone had apparently just walked through the patio screen door ripping the screen and bending the frame. The pool heater apparently had a short and the water temp never went above 60 degrees and was unusable. The hottub was on "economy" and the water temp was a cool 70 - and no instructions how to reset it. The bedding was tattered along the edges and was of questionable cleanliness. The tilework and travertine was obviously a DIY and a poor one at that. The amenities - silverware, glassware, and dishes numbered about 60% of advertised. A complaint to our contact person via VRBO offered the explanation that they had rented to six servicemen who had abused the property. That doesn't mitigate the cleaning, but really - this is supposed to be our problem? For $5,200? A search of the internet on this company simply begins a shellgame. I am not assigning responsibility, but so far I have dealt with VRBO (whose policy appears to be NOT to include negative reviews), Progressive Management Concepts Arizona, Sunbelt Vacations (or on one site with typo, Sunbelt Vavations), and - as best I can determine the owner of the property - High Quality Water of Phoenix. I have posted this complaint on VRBO and another travel review site. Within one day I have received an email from "John" threatening legal action for breach of contract - a section where I was not to post a derogatory albeit honest opinion of their property. Perusing the internet it seems the best recourse is to file a complaint with the BBB in Phoenix and with the Office of the Attorney General in Arizona. Both will be done.
