Acura of Peoria Commiting FRAUD to close car deals Peoria, Arizona |
22nd of Jan, 2013 by User421912 |
I recently purchased a used Acura TSX from Acura of Peoria. The car was a great deal and I loved it but a few days after I purchased the car I lost my job... I received a call from Capital One Auto Finance ( the lender who the dealer said I was pre approved with) asking me to call them about not having current employment and when I discussed it with them they notified me that they would be sending a denial to the dealership. I called Mike O'Hare the finance guy at Acura of Peoria and explained my situation. He told me to "lay low" and they would get it financed even though I was not employed. I felt this was inmoral so I told him I would come down to the dealership to discuss it with them. That night my father and I drove 45 minutes back to the dealership and ran into the sales manager Paul Brown. I knew going into the dealership that they would be attempting fraud so I was recorded the entire conversation. Paul Brown informed me that even though I was jobless and had no way to pay for the loan that it was a "done deal, slam dunk" and that another lender would pick up the loan. I mentioned that a lender wouldn't want the loan knowing I was not employed and had no way of paying them back and he said " that's not the case" he stated that Wells Fargo had picked up the loan and I would receive the paper work in a few days. I knew they were being dishonest so I said that's fine I would like to wait here and speak with Mike who had asked me to come down to the dealership in the first place. After mentioning that I was recording the conversation he stopped dead in his tracks and said he had nothing more to say to me. A few minutes later he returned and asked me and my father to leave the dealership or they would call the police. I asked my dad to call the police for me and he did. Another sales guy came out and claimed he was one of the higher ups and asked me if he could help he mentioned that it was a done deal and there was nothing else to be said so he asked us to leave. I asked to see the new paper work since I knew that the original lender denied the loan and they refused to show me any paper work saying I already had what I needed. The police arrived and talked to us, I didn't want to cause a scene so I asked the officer if we could talk out front. We walked outside where I explained our story. He was very nice and understood where we were coming from. We kindly left the dealership after that. I still have the vehicle that I purchased from them and they still have my trade in. I will be contacting our lawyers to take this further due to the fact that we have evidence of fraud. In the mean time I want everyone reading this to know how ACURA OF PEORIA does business. They say there's always one bad apple in the bunch but this dealership seems to have a lot more than just one.... BUYERS BEWARE!! Please don't make the same mistake I did, these guys are dishonest and I wouldn't do future business with them. -An extremely dissatisfied customer. |
