| The few people that founded this website use to be top mediators at a website called PTO. They used their high positions to steal information and make their own website that is identical to the original. I have physical proof that they are going to each member of PTO and trying to get the members to come over to their website, claiming it is better. They have sent me messages that were inappropriate when I expressed that I was happy where I was. This is suppose to be a support group for loved ones of prisoners. Not some people trying to scam the website that has helped us all over the years. And surely not a helpful website if they are now harassing me because I dont want to change my membership. They have broken internet solicitation laws and this could be cause for a legal lawsuit. |

Prison Family Online (PFO) is a new site that was created with a sincere desire to offer an online community that was able to offer more than just information for those with a loved one incarcerated or facing the Criminal Justice System. We wanted a Site that created a family-like environment offering information, support, activism, and knowledge on how to effect change in the system without the fear of retribution, conflict, or drama.
PFO Administration has spent a great deal of time investigating this complaint before we responded. There are no emails that have been sent from our servers, nor any member of Senior Staff who have contacted or harassed members of other similar sites to join our site.
Many of PFO's members have discovered us through word of mouth from individuals who have found that our site meets their needs for informational and emotional support, naturally these members are eager to share this new found discovery. PFO's main purpose is to provide this information and support unconditionally.
If PFO is not the place for you, only YOU can make that decision. We respect that there are many similar support and information forums on the Internet, and we respect your decision to choose for yourself which site(s) you want to be a part of. Should you not want to be a part of ours, then that is YOUR choice.
We will not spend time defending our position to a faceless account that could have been created by anyone. We will simply say that you can ask ANY member of our site what we are like and what we stand for to get a good gauge of our character from people who know what we really stand for and not simply believing demonized reports from anonymous sources.
We will say that there was an issue at the beginning of May - Incidentally it was on the same day that this report was created - where our site Administration email address was spoofed. We have verified the origin of the spoofer and have reported it in the proper manner. If you were a recipient of this email then you have our sincere apologies, but PFO cannot be held responsible for something that did not originate from us.
We would be interested to know what proposed person on PFO is going to EVERY member of another site to get members to join us as this is against our Forum Rules - however we sincerely doubt such an incident occurred as anyone with full knowledge of these incidents can fairly surmise who the originator of this report is.
