I contacted PrintMasters regarding printing of a custom plastic deck of cards. We are a private for-profit educational company that teaches pre-hospital wilderness medicine. The cards were designed as a poker deck with standard Ace, King, Queen, Jack, etc., medical flash cards, and an advertizing tool for our company. It was critical: that the photographs were rendered correctly, the text was clear, the graphics were clear and their colors distinct from the text, and the plastic be durable and tear-free. PrintMasters assured me multiple times that their print quality was excellent and that all my conditions would be met or exceeded. They told me all the images and text on the cards would be identical to the pdf files I sent. Once they approved the pdf files for printing, I (foolishly) paid half the negotiated fee up front. They agreed to send two decks from the print run to assure that the above conditions were met. The ONLY condition they met was the quality of the card plastic. The color was off on all photos. So much so that it was impossible for a reader to assess various skin conditions and injuries from them. The text was blurred in many places and in some indistinguishable from the background graphic. The color of background graphics was off and the detail, present in the pdf file, was lost. In addition to the above printing errors, odd artifacts appeared randomly on the card backs and the border trim was off. In short the decks were completely useless for their intended purpose. While PrintMasters obliquely acknowledged the errors, they refused to reprint to the agreed upon specifications or refund my money. I strongly advise caution in dealing with this company and recommend using a different printer.
