Premier Warranty Group ripped off elderly widow, deceptive mailing, failed to honor warranty, numerous delays - stranded out of town while Premier loo

My mother, a 69 year old widow, responded to direct mail advertisement by Premier warranty. All was well until her car broke down while she was on vacation, leaving her stranded in another state. I have been the point of contact with both the repair company and Premier Warranty. Although Premier told me that "we" could authorize repairs at any time, they were clear that they were not prepared to authorize the repair, so we would be proceeding at our own risk. I called Premier Warranty DAILY in order to receive updates, and was often treated rudely and with disrespect. Premier has refused to honor the warranty that was purchased by mother in good faith, even after leaving her stranded out of town for over a week and a half. The service technician at the car dealer where my mothers's car is STILL waiting for repair told me that he deals with many warranty companies - and has NEVER had to deal with one like this. The "adjuster" at Premier told me the claim was denied because they have deemed the transmission problem "normal wear and tear". RIDICULOUS. The car is a 2001 Mercury Sable with less than 40,000 miles. The service technician confirmed it is not "normal" for a car with such low miles, and with confirmed service record, to have a transmission breakdown. Premier refuses to honor the warranty, and has effectively screwed a 69 year old widow. Sharon
