PowerProfiles.com What a Shiest Helping Themselves Internet
13th of Sep, 2011 by User505469
Ok this is what is going on with these Yahoo's I had a Corporation, I opened it in 2002 I tried to go big with a dot com, it failed after the first year I threw money at it to keep it alive as long as I could but I couldn't get past the Marketing strategies the big corporations could easily control since they had much deeper pocket, so much for small businesses on the internet... Now there's a thing in the news just today about putting your name in on Google search so you can find whats on the internet about you and if your job hunting like I am you might be able to correct any disparaging finds about yourself. I found a link that listed my old company on this site at PowerProfiles.com I look around the site to opt. out on the information not only because it listed my home address it also stated what my defunked company yearly worth was and believe you me if I made that kinda money I'd be sitting flush. anyway I couldn't believe that there disclaimer was that I either had to join the club or send them a paper form with my credit card information that would more than likely cost me more than the 29.99 they were looking for to remove the information. but they say they get the information from an outside source and it would take this unbelievable amount of time to correct or remove any information from there website then they list a contact for there information source but say that if you like you can contact them and have the information updated or removed but it could take up to 90 days and there were still no guaranties that the information would stay gone ... So here's the deal I think... you have a company online that posts information from an outside source (they are probably in bed together) weather there is any degree of accuracy in what they post is besides the point. ( Sounds like it would be more to their advantage given the format of operation) why could they care, right, there going to charge you to fix it one way or the other no getting around it. So they make a business of fixing what they say is what someone else created. then they offer services to it's Join or join type of policy like there some kind of who's who, why would you need to. I think it unconscionable to think it's ok to expose people to a complete act of (what is this piracy) forced servitude and expect to be rewarded. there is something ethically and morally wrong with this type of monetary leaching... This reminds me of a situation argued in contract law: your neighbor comes over when your not home and paints your garage door, without your permission, you didn't ask him and the door didn't need the paint, are you obligated to pay for services rendered simply because he presents you with a bill, then he says the neighborhood would look better if he could paint the whole garage and he would do it for an x amount of monetary benefit. No one asked for your services, no one here wants your services, you took it upon yourselves to post inaccurate information, I don't remember ever being asked if what ever you were posting needed to be corrected so who are you again...
