Powdercoat-It Bad Service and Even Worse Powdercoat Job Sacramento , California |

At first glance the shop looked clean and professional until a young man came out to help me with my job estimate and color selection. When we went into the office to make the color selection and get my estimate the professionalism was out the door. The owner and the young guy who was helping me were swearing and bantering with each other and another employee. I was quite shocked to see this type of behavior at a business. It was worse than my garage with my buddies on a Saturday night. I looked pass the service figuring as long as the end product was good I can deal with the lack of professionalism. I was given my estimate (not bad $$ wise) and was told it would be two weeks. Two weeks went by and I gave them a call to find out that it was going to be another couple weeks. Finally 5 weeks later my parts were ready and I went to pick them up. When I arrived I was met by the owner still with the same lack of professionalism and foul language. The owner and an employee loaded my frame parts into my truck and I was on my way; just glad to be out of there. When I got home I unloaded the parts and didn't get to assembling the frame until the weekend. Upon assembly I noticed some very bad discoloration where it was evident that the stripping job they did was sub par and the powder coat did not adhere. There were other areas or discoloration where it appeared that rust had bubbled up during the heating process. Speaking with another powder coat shop they told me not only was the frame not prepped correctly Powdercoat-It did not pre bake the item as stated to prevent this from happening. When I called Powdercoat-It about the issue I got their "normal" service. They pretty much blew me off and said well we can redo it but it will cost you additional $$$$$. I do not know how they are still in business with this type of service and product.
