plentyoffish.com Deceptive billing practices internet

Beware of the online dating site Plentyoffish.com, www.pof.com and their upgrade feature.
When you try to upgrade your free menbership to a paid one, you will see about 3 paying options. Each one of them shows in great bold letters a monthly charge and next to it, in a smaller non bold and in parenthesis, a different amount. Then, at the bottom, in smaller characters, it says that you will be billed for a lump sum.
So you click on one of the options thinking you will be billed monthly. Ha! Then when you check your bill, you realize that you have been billed for the sum in parenthesis. When I attempted to contact their billing department to report this mistake, that's when they state boldly that they bill for lump sum and that they do NOT bill monthly. Too bad they couldn't be that bold and clear when they presented you with options. I am disputing this billing with my bank, but I wanted to let the rest of you know, do NOT upgrade with Plentyoffish, unless you want to be billed a lump sum for a year of service. After this experience, I went online to research them and I am finding many people who are complaining that many of the profiles there are fake...
