I purchased and received the shipment of a motherboard on time, sort of. What they don't tell is first your order must be approved, nearly a week in my case, then 5-8 business days to ship and if you paid for express, it arrives sooner, then if you did not. Actually got concerned about how long it was taking so I checked my bank account and found they had charged me twice for the same board. I emailed them and they admitted error on their part and the extra charge would come off in 24-48 hours. And it did. After receiving delivery and opening the box, I could see through the static bag that the BIOS chips were discolored. Then I removed the board from its bag and the board was absolute trash, bent pins, broken battery retainer, overheated bios chips, dirty... I immediately photographed and documented the serial code and then requested an explanation by email, for the inferior product I received, specifically the burnt BIOS chips and blah, blah, blah. Their response was not friendly, in the least. I told them, I would not put my high end SLI equipment in this board, nor test it with said equipment, because it was my understanding from "Google Shopping" that the board was new. So, I didn't care if it works or not. I wanted it replaced with a new one or returned for a refund, no questions asked. They would not hear of it. Please see link below. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&sugexp=gsis,i18n%3Dtrue&cp=11&gs_id=w&xhr=t&q=k8n+pro+sli&qe=azhuIHBybyBzbGk&qesig=rsijFNH0NksuLL2Wo6Uuug&pkc=AFgZ2tlCo_vFg2XqOCX5qJl4GXLIJSbv4WakU7hqV3KG01iHOCSHQMN9xGXeKQN5Lo5mt39Kptzd7LCOhVN9GFtkVaNzh6SWoQ&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1680&bih=935&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=99272674524385580&sa=X&ei=qCFxTqbMDuHlsQLmmvm1CQ&sqi=2&ved=0CHQQ8wIwCg Sure enough, after several unfruitful attempts at reasoning, I received the same rude and threatening responses, as many others, for expressing my dissatisfaction. They told me it was in working order and refused any further action unless the board was tested. My point is, that anyone who works on computers knows a burnt bios chip is a sure fire warning of a very limited life, if any. As far as I know the board may be DOA. I'll have to find alternate components, which I do not have, to check it out, and I shutter to think what I might get or have to deal with, if I did return it, including time and expense. Just read some of the other reviews. So far they are hitting par and being quite consistent. What a waste of valuable time and money, I will not spend another second or dime on them, aside from plugging any review I can find with a WARNING of their unscrupulous business practices. DO NOT buy vintage equipment aka NOT AVAILABLE IN YOUR MARKETPLACE in OEM packaging from these guys, regardless of what their Google Shopping ads says (NEW). Isn't that fraud and blatantly misguiding for profit. And I think applauding them for ingenious marketing would be a serious blow to consumer rights. My experience with this company has been extremely negative. I was trusting and they were verbally uncooperative and abusive, in my opinion. Their constant barrage of vague rhetoric and policy in emails with ALL CAPITALS, threatening me and defending their actions with everything from their "legal Dept" to their good standing with the US military, the government and many other high profile companies, is mind boggling. I even tried some posturing of my own, to no avail. What is even more disturbing is their lack of intelligible communication. They have no intention of making things right, unless they are forced to, I surmise. How can I know, no one it seems, has been able to hold them responsible, despite the numerous complaints and dissatisfied customers. They accused me of taking advantage of them, asking me if I thought they were stupid. I had to ponder for a moment, should I answer. No, they are incorrigible. I'm done. I will not be posting specific information of the order, emails or photos. I am reserving my right to consult with an attorney and consumer advocates. I do not wish to compromise any pertinent evidence or procedural fact finding. If by chance myself or someone else may be helped. |
