Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in Los Angeles, CA Customer service was hasty and abrupt in obtaining an appointment via telephone. I was very specific on the telephone about being served by a phase two student. The voice of a male rep informed me that I would have to wait one day and for a phase two student and stated that a phase two students service would be at a much higher price. He said that a phase one student will have completed at least 300 hours and a phase two student would have between 300 to 1000 hours. He mentioned that a phase one student price would be $12.00 and Phase two student would cost $17.00 for a wash, cut and blow dry. I am very particular about my long beautiful hair so I agreed to wait the day and for a student with more experience. Upon my arrival, the female behind the service desk never looked up as she asked me to wait a few minutes. After about a three to five minutes wait at the front desk, she slapped a small sheet of paper on the counter and still not looking at me, hurriedly asked that I sign this please. I read and signed the sheet of paper which indicated that I knew I was being served by a student and they were not responsible or liable for any damages. I gently informed the inattentive female representative that at the time the appointment was made; a request was made for a phase two student. Still not looking up at me, she brusquely said Yes, yes, I know Then went on to assist the next person. Never asked me to have a seat or provide me with a wait time. I walked off and waited, and waited and waited. After a fifteen minute wait, I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady who introduced herself and asked that I continue to wait while she sets up her station. Another ten minute wait then I was escorted to the salon chair. She kindly asked for my name and asked what I had in mind. After a few minutes a supervisor appeared and proceeded to give my student instructions on what to do to cut my hair. He never asked me what I wanted and did not have any eye contact with me at all. I interrupted his conversation with the student and explained what my desire was for my hair cut. The supervisor ignored my comment and just continued to give the student direction on what to do next. Just split in sections. After continued disregard for my request, I asked my student how long she had been practicing. She said shed been on the job for five hours as she began cutting away. I asked for a round cut and got a V cut. While we waited for further cutting instructions, I spoke to the manager and explained that I had requested and waited for a phase two student but was given a phase one student. I expressed my despair & concern & went on to say how hopeless I felt. I informed the manager of the inconsiderate customer service and explained how inattentive and uncaring they were. The manager stated that she would find a phase two student for me. I asked that she explain why I had to wait for two days for a phase 2 student but now suddenly one would be available? There was no answer she just asked me to wait again. At this point I thought it might be best to cut my losses and leave. |
