Passport to Fun Fraudulent charges on my credit card for months Internet, Connecticut |

I, to, was a victim of the Passport to Fun scam - I don't know how I got involved but suspect, like other victims, that my information and credit card number were given to a third party during a legiimate transaction with Vista Print or Michael's. I do business with both of them on a regular basis and have my web site monitored by Vista Print. I do remember that during the initial setting up of the web site I was offered some special deals - I never agreed to any of them. I had charges on my credit card for almost 2 years - unbeknownst to me as my husband pays the bills and just assumed the charges were the fees for the web site. One day he montioned the charges and they were not the correct amount I thought I was payig for the web site. That's when we looked closer. I immediately e-mailed Passport to Fun and asked to be removed from their membership list and given a full refund. I told them I did not even know who or what they were. I expected to recieve a refund for the one month charge only but much to my surprise in the latest credit card bill, I was refunded 26 months worth of charges for membership. I wonder if any of the other victims tried asking for a refund! It is still a scam I am sure as I never recieved any of the membership documents, numbers and magazine their web site promises. But as I never knew I was a member I never used any of their services. I would suggest that everyone who does any business on the internet beware of this scam and avoid it by not even looking at the "specials" as they may have some sort of key to giving out your credti information. I do not believe Vista Print would intentionally give the information to anyone. |
