I never missed a payment on my loan which was taken over by Paramount Capital Group, Inc. I made my first payment to them. In that notice the company stated that they would be mailing a "payment booklet". One month went by, no payment booklet. Phone calls started, a lot of phone calls from Nate. I returned his phone calls several times stating that "I haven't received the payment booklet, how can I pay without a statement?" Another rep told me to send a check and the billing booklet would be sent. I did not realize the account # was not given after i sent the check. I sent the check on 12-18, received a notice printed out on 12-16 (this notice was not received until morning of 12-23...7 days)stating loan in default, pay in full. A phone call to Nate who stated that they did not legally have to send me a bill because I know the due date of the bill. After that phone call we received another call minutes later and someone from that company asked for my daughter who has no loan whatsoever with them! When dialed back and asked why they called asking for Amy, they denied ever calling and asking for her. I have endured one month of these idiotic phone calls one i which I was asked for my bank account # which I refused only to hear "we legally do not have to send a bill because you know when it is due". That in and of itself is an admission of guilt.........they ever intended on sending a bill, they only planned on demanding payment of thousands of dollars paid in full.

| Paramount Capital Group just plain sucks. I took a student loan with them in 2007 for my CDL driving school. I paid every single payment on time for the first few months. I lost my first driving job, fell 1(one) day behind and the phone calls started...i tried to explain to them that I couldnt pay at the moment and they refused to help me with a different payment plan. I consulted with a debt consolidation company. Paramount Capital refused to work with that company as well and now, almost 4 and a half years later, they still say that I owe them money even after I have filled chapter 7. Although I have yet to recieve ANYTHING from themin the past year and half, they are still reporting on my credit history and I have discovered they ran a report on my credit without my knowledge. The asshole who repeatedly called me, at all hours of the day and night, even threatened me on the phone. I too think that this company is a bunch of scammers because I havent recieved anything from them showing that I am in default with this loan, that I have past due payments on this loan or what my options are in relation to this loan company. |

I have had a loan with them since 2007 and I never missed a payment. June 20, 2012 was my last payment-I had the payments taken out of my account. They took out the entire amount. No problem, that was what my coupon book said the last payment would be. I called June 21, 2012 to confirm that was the last payment and found out I was to received money back. July 2012 they took another full payment out. When I called this time I was given the run around. Finally, on July 24, 2012 I was told that I would receive two checks one with the June amount due and a second one for the July payment, which was not have come out at all. I guess they have a run away freight train that nobody can stop, just nobody! I was told by Joe Todd? that I sign a contract (I never missed one payment) and that as far as the June payment was concern the contract said that the $146.02 was to be taken out. I asked him what did the contract say? He told me "When it was paid in full" and I told him that the last payment should not have been the entire amount but a portion and the July payment was not even legal for they to take out.
My question is Anyone know a good lawyer?
I was suppose to receive the money Saturday 7/28/2012, but I did not. I did tell Joe that it better not happen in Aug. or I will see them in court. |
