In 2007 my family and I invested in 10 parcels of land in Costa Rica. The Ives Kena gated community being built by Paradigma Construction. We paid $50,000 up front and another $150,000 over 5 years. The most recent newsletter I read in late 2011 told us that they were planning on starting to build roads. Five years and they are just now starting on roads! They were supposed to have been completely finished in five years. Red flags have been flying in my head for months and after reading the other posts I have found I am convinced this is a total rip off. They say the downturn in the economy has effected them but if they are getting regular payments from hundreds of people how does anything here effect them? Now, instead of having to pay the balloon payment at the end of 2011, they have "graciously" offered to let us continue to pay monthly. For what, I would like to know. I am extremely frustrated and very reluctant to throw good money in after bad. I would really like to know what's going on down there, but just try getting a straight answer out of anyone affiliated with this project. So $200,000+......... gone
