Palm Harbor Homes, Conroe, TX Terrible customer service, poor workmanship conroe, Texas |

We purchased our "best craftsmanship" Palm Harbor home in October 2009 along with a land package. The land contractors were not contacted to do anything until the following April (2010). All this time, each time I called the manager or my salesperson would always conveniently be away and of course would never call me back. The house finally arrived in late May 2010, but took 2 weeks to put together although by the look of it, they really did it in a day. The trim work and skirting were slapped together and look like a 10 year old painted them. there are gaps and uneven spots everywhere around the house. We were told there would be a "run-off" so water would not run up to the house WRONG, we have big puddle right up against the house in the back yard. We have had mold and mildew in the attic because they did not seal the air conditioner vents right. Great electric bills since we were heating both the house and the attic. The did come clean that up, but still didn't seal the air conditioning correctly. I have a list of warranty items that still need to be looked at. I've sent them to the Conroe office, the warranty center like I was told and each one says it's someone else's responsibility to fix that. I started copying the President that's listed on their website. I still email the list about once a month just for fun to see if anyone responses, they don't. Palm Harbor has filed for bankruptcy and parts of the company have been bought out be another manufactured home builder. Doesn't matter! Stay away from Palm Harbor, they will take advantage of you every chance they get. The man that came to clean up and fix the painting once the house was put together even told us that, he's seen them do it to a lot of people and he works contract for them. Wish we would have talked to him before signing the papers. |
