PAWS for Pets re-sold my missing dog! BEWARE! |

PAWS for Pets adoption program, also known as Pineywoods Animal Welfare Society in Beaumont, Texas is a CORRUPT organization. I adopted a chihuahua from them 4 months ago, and had her micro-chipped as well. When my dog got loose from my yard, I immediately called PAWS for assistance and was told that their volunteers would be on alert in my town for the dog. Exactly 1 week later I received a phone call from a man claiming to have found my dog but said he didn't know what to do with her so instead of bringing her to the local shelter or pound, he brought her to a random woman at a random business. This woman just happened to be a PAWS volunteer. She never called me herself to let me know my dog was found, and neither did PAWS, and when I went to get my dog back from her, she denied having the dog. I got the man who found my dog to go up there with me and her story quickly changed and she became irate and defensive. She told me I was not going to get the dog back because I had breached my contract with PAWS, (although no proof of this was ever shown to me or the police and PAWS themselves NEVER contacted me for any reason) and that my dog had heartworms. Research shows that it takes 7 months for a blood test to confirm the prescence of heartworms in a dog and I only had bought my dog 4 months earlier. So either she was making up stories in order to defend her decision to keep my dog or PAWS sold me a dog that was positive for heartworms and neglected to inform me when I adopted. When I questioned her further, she seemed to be making up excuses such as, "well I haven't seen a missing dog ad in the paper so you don't even care enough about this dog to look for her" although I had informed not only the local dog catcher, but the pound, local animal shelters, city hall, the police, as well as put out fliers AND an ad in the local newspaper. PAWS will not return my phone calls because they are COWARDS and SCAMMERS that do not have the best interest of these animals at heart. The public needs to be aware of their deceptions and lack of decency and professionalism as well as their lack of concern for abiding by the law. My dog is micro-chipped with MY information in that chip, the police confirmed this but told me I would have to seek an attorney. I had confirmation that the dog was re-sold to this volunteer according to the veterinarian's records. DO NOT adopt from PAWS for Pets, also known as Pineywood Animal Welfare Society in Beaumont, Texas. They adopt out animals every Saturday at Petco from 12-5, and the volunteer's name who committed theft by willingly keeping another person's property is Tina Hebert Nelson. The woman who filed my paperwork on the adoption and is "close friends" with Tina Nelson is Wendy Poole. She no doubt helped to see that this crime was carried out and I will go to every extreme necessary to see that these people are exposed for their ILLEGAL activities. |
