Open Range Wireless Internet/Phone Lied and said they weren't going out of business and days later they did! aurora, Colorado |

This company is such a joke! They lied to me and I can only guess, they lied to other customers as well. I called these people early in the month after receiving a letter in the mail saying they were going out of business. Being a very busy mom, going to schools, taking kids here and there, appointments, etc., I finally had the chance to call them and did. I asked outright if they were going out of business as the letter I got said and was told no by the woman rep who was on the other line. She said and I quote "no, we were thinking about going out of business but we changed our minds." I asked her again, she told me no once more and I paid here $100 of my $125 phone bill with a credit card. Something however didn't sit right with me so I got online and ordered telephone service with someone else. As the days went on, I noticed when I got online after my son was done on the computer, I was on about 5 minutes when the internet went off. I picked up the phone to call them and there was no dial tone. For 2 days my service was like this. All of a sudden the phone rings, we all looked at each other. I picked it up and it was a recording from Open Range saying they were going out of business and for it's customers to find other internet and phone providers. I was shocked! The very next morning, the phone was off again and this time, for the last time with this company. We just got phone service on 11/28/11 and internet service on 12/5/11. Now this company has taken my money, lied and didn't give me enough time to do much of anything. The very least they could've done was to warn it's customers in advance instead of acting like the money hungry animals they are! Now they want their *customers* to pay to ship back their modem/router on our own dime? Really??!! How about you give me the $100 I gave you? Isn't there some type of way to file a class action lawsuit against this company? Any help would be appreciated, thank you. |

I had the exact same problem with them...except I sent the modem back to the address they told me to ship it to. I got tracking on it "just in case". After a couple of days, I checked the tracking and it read "miss-sent"...wtf!? This is the address they told me to ship it to! After a day or two, I get a recorded phone call AND an email stating to ship it some other address by the 18th of December or be charged $125!!! My modem is still sitting in the sorting facility and I won't get it back in time to re-send it because THEY screwed up! So, I'll be charged $125...scratch that...$135(out of pocket shipping) for sending the modem back to them like they asked. I believe they did this to suck as much money out of their customers as possible before turning the lights off at the home office! I'd also like to know of a possible class action law suit... |
