| Onyx Management is by far the worst property management i have ever run across in my life. I am a tenant who is currently living in one of their properties. For the past 3 years i have suffered tremendously!!! These guys only care about one thing..MONEY! The property is in such bad shape & has been that way since day one. The owner of the home claims to me she knew nothing of what was going on, only did she know the dire need of the situation when she was sent a letter from the city informing her of the violations on the property. She was also informed she was in great risk of losing her home. These guys do not repair a thing! they send UNLICENSED UNPROFESSIONAL workers who have no clue what the hell they are doing. For 3 years i called to inform these guys on the hazards of the property & for 3 years i got a who cares attitude. These guys will stop at nothing to suck money out of you, all the while not doing a damn thing. I have copies of letters i have written, pictures, invoices the owners were sent for jobs that were NEVER DONE, you name it i have it all! I just pray to gawd i am able to move out of this hell hole! with someone being held to full accountability. While i do feel sorry for the owners of the property i am renting, i can show no sympathy. I feel they are also slightly to blame as well, how can you have a property that you are dishing out thousands of dollars on & never come to see what is being done? Now that the situation has taken a turn for the worse the problem falls into the owners lap & Onyx is sitting back staying under the shade. But at the end of the day it is the tenants who suffer, cause no matter what we are the ones who have to live in these conditions. We are the ones who have to still pay rent, we are the ones that always more than likely end up on the losing end of the situation. I am a student with 2 jobs who has a young child so getting up & moving is not a first option for me. For the 3 years i lived on the property i had no heat (which is still not working properly) , i dealt with unsightly disgusting leaks (which i am still dealing with), molding walls (which i am still dealing with), an infestation of rodents & roaches (which i had to get a cat & i purchase bug control products every 3-6 months) the list goes on!! Point blank the property is just disgusting! Pretty much i am at my wits end. All i will say is renters beware, beware of property managers as well as owners of homes of the property you are renting. The problem is we have these owners who buy houses in Philadelphia living elsewhere who don't care to take the time or effort to make sure things are handled properly, they leave it in the care of these property management companies who don't care as well and everyone is happy as long as they get their money. Its disgusting! |
