This is an e-mail I sent to Ontel Products I just ordered miracle socks online from the website advertised on your commercial www.getmiraclesocks.com Order # DR-4461664 . During the process, I was told that the Firm Compression Level Miracle Socks would come with an extra pair of socks and would cost $10 plus $13.98 shipping and handling. I then proceeded to purchase the Firm Compression Level Miracle Socks Value Pack which I was told would cost $19.99 but the shipping and handling would be free. I chose not to upgrade or purchase anything else. So the total plus the $1 for the electronic processing fee should come to $44.97. At no point in time was a list of items and totals shown to me before proceeding with check out. The website went straight to telling me that the transaction was complete and only then showed me this list, which was completely different than the prices quoted along the way. The list showed me that the Firm Compression Level Miracle Socks was $20, and the Firm Compression Level Miracle Socks Value Pack was $34.99. Only after saying that the transaction was complete did the site reveal that I had just spent $69.97! These are copied from your site: GET 2 PAIRS OF MIRACLE SOCKS & 2 TUBES OF MIRACLE OF ALOE FOOT REPAIR ONLY $10 PLUS S/P&H ^^^ I purchased this in black size S/M, and I understood that s/p&h would be $13.98 Get your Miracle Socks Value Pack! Getmiraclesocks Scam - Rip off. I went to the web site to order the TV special ( 2 pair for $10.00 includes 2 creams.) After I push Submit other stuff start to appear, I did order the extra pair for an additional $ 6.99 for another paid. Then a list of other special started: extra compression, extra firm, saying that they were better than the socks I just ordered. I answered NoThanks to each one. then I received my invoice, it should have been $24.97, well it was for 47.97. It showed me buying the things I said No Thanks too. I sent them a email right away. Of course they were not there for the phone call. I told them they had until noon the next day to resubmit my correct invoice or I was going to the bank and cancel the whole order. I guess I will find out tomorrow. I should have went to Ebay instead of this company. |

That is correct, it says in parentheses (plus p&h) at the bottom of the "extra free crap" portion. They dont tell you that until the end of the transaction when you get a receipt stating that your purchasing only one (1) pair of socks for $20! I was so furious that I emailed their customer service and to be on the safe side I filed a complaint case with the FTC as well. Along with the charges, I was charged a $1 "electronic processing fee" which I also believe is just more BS from them. And on top of that, they upped the shipping fee from what they quoted me before I ended up on the receipt screen. All together what should have only costed me about $23 ended up costing $37 and a lot of headache and red tape.
Warning to everyone, steer clear of this scam it's a waste of time and money and no one gets a good pair of socks either way. |
