Ocwen Escrow scam, stolen money, late payments, fradulent home modification West Palm Beach, Florida |

Our problems with Ocwen began immediately after asking our current mortgage lender about the new modification program President Obama began. Shortly after our mortgage was bought by Ocwen and then the problems began. Ocwen sent us the paperwork for us to fill out for a modification, they lost the returned paper work 2 times that I had sent back. After several calls, sometimes lasting hours, they found my paperwork. Then of course denied my modification because I had never missed a payment or been late. They advised me to not make a payment in order to qualify for the modification. I decided not too and to give up on the modification. Several months went by. I began receiving late notices, even though we had turned our payment in on time and the bank had cashed it before the due date. They began charging me late fees. So every time I wrote letter after letter saying no the payment wasn't late, etc. Ocwen does this so that they can report to the credit bureau that your payment was late and eventually lower your credit score so that you wont be able to qualify for a refinance. They say they will fix the reporting to the credit bureau, but they never do. The next problem we had was our escrow account. They informed us of an overage of $400.00 dollars, so we waited for a check. When I called it suddenly turned into not having an overage of $400.00, but just $70.00. Now this month our December payment went up $200.00 and when I called they said I had an escrow shortage of over $1,000.00. Since I was not notified and had no idea why my December payment went up I made the normal payment. Now they said, since Decembers wasn't paid in full it is considered late and have billed me again. Eventhough they sent no notice as to why my payment went up. We need help and our considering a lawyer. We just want out of this mortgage with Ocwen. Please help!! |
