Grandparents raised granddaughter (6 now) for over 5 years (3/2006-12/2010). Parents for some unknown idiot judge decision gained custody and removed from entire life 12/2/10. Since that date, it was finally discovered the mother emotionally abused the child for over 2 months. Along the lines of Stockholm syndrom. Neighbor overheard for 2 months mother yelling at child that grandparents kidnapped her, stole her, didn't love her. Child screamed to go back to Grandma. Mother locked child in the one bedroom apartment until she was quiet and said grandma kidnapped her. The emotional abused STOPPED once grandma had to leave her life and move to where parents lived to protect her. Emotional abuse continued somewhat and CPS was contacted. MALE/Investigator went to parents who denied. Child was not taken outside during interview and scared. Investigator stated child didnt look emotionally abused. She had food, clothes, roof over her head. Child was so brainwashed when grandma first saw child, the child ran and screamed don't kidnap me etc. etc. It took SIX MONTHS of grandma living in area and seeing child until child realized mother lied. Child was traumized. CPS NEVER called neighbor into office. Instead, questioned her while parents where home. What is that? Today, child has stopped wetting pants, limited nightmares and doing better in school. Child is still not as affectionate as she once was. I ASK CPS - what the hell do you need as evidence? Why wasn't psychologist scheduled for child? Child always tells truth in in a safe feeling atmosphere. Emotional abuse occurs in 97% of all physical abuse cases. Emotional abuse stays with you your entire life. CPS, as busy as they are, when parents are reported by grandparents, who had guardianship most of childs life call, they NEED TO LISTEN. I have had granddaughter live with me in their area since 5/2010 with dad who actually WOKE UP. Mother had first overnight visit in 2 weeks (rarely sees child) and child told grandma she work up and found a naked man in mommies bed. Child said she work up in frontroom? Just reported to CPS - and they said it was my word against mother. Mother stated this man, kinda a friend, came in middle of night, locked out of Camp Pendleton and need to sleep somewhere. Why at mothers house with a 6 year old? Why in the bedroom where child should be sleeping.........any attorneys out there who would represent grandma and child in North County San Diego? |
