Environmental Solutions Association E.S.A. Non-payment to subcontractors for Deck Refurbishment Williamsport, Pennsylvania |

Beware of this company for non-payment to it's subcontractors. I started doing business with them in the Fall of 2009 and got paid for the first several jobs. So I committed to doing a route of 5 deck cleaning jobs back to back nearly 200 miles away from my home. The work was done in a timely manner and professional manner and totaled approx. $3300. It was completed by mid August 2010, my paperwork was sent into them immediately to be processed. As per their payment contract, they were to pay me no later than 30 days after receipt of my paperwork submission. They submitted the work to the company that contracted their services (A.E.R.T.) and they were paid what was supposed to be forwarded to me, but instead spent the money on other things claiming that they never received payment from A.E.R.T. After dozens of phone calls and e-mails to the president of the company, Calvin Zehring, I was told promise after promise that my money was coming. Between Aug. 2010 and Dec 2010 I got 2 checks, one of which bounced, and then was honored. This still leaves a balance of nearly $2300. I have sent a certified letter explaining that I will take him to small claims court if I don't get paid by mid March 2011. The court will be here in California and he is operating out of Pa. I also promised to contact the District Attorneys office, The B.B.B. and the licensing board under which he operates as well as sites such as this one to warn people of his unscrupulous business practices. If there are any others who have been scammed like I have been, please let me know so we can join forces. I know of at least one other sub here in California who has been taken advantage of as well. With vultures like this, is it any wonder that small businesses are hurting (economy aside)!! |
