After fixing a very difficult dent on the door edge of our family car, I contacted NMB paint sales for ordering the paint and for paint application instructions. After getting the necessary info, I decided to go ahead and place an order. Because I am living at the place where shipments left near the door of ten getting disappeared, I asked my cousin to place an order for me (She lives in much better neighborhood then I do, so the packages would not get stolen). Together we filled out the order form, specifying the year, make, and model and color code and submitted the payment. The paint arrived fast and color match was perfect, however the label on the can indicated base coat. This was somehow confusing because the sales rep with whom I communicated before, mentioned to me that this color available only as a single stage. Assuming that it was just a typo, I contacted the sales. In response to my email about this matter, I received an answer that whoever placed the order should write single stage in the special instruction box an beacause the box was blank, the can was filled with the base coat. The sales then advised me to order another "correct can" or use clear coat on the paint and refused any further action, which contradicts the statement from the company customer satisfaction policy. If an Internet order form would have listed the check boxes for finish types instead a vague special instruction box, it would be easier to figure out what material we need.to specify on the order form. From my almost 18 years of Toyota ownership and repair experience, I am sure that the color I requested was never available as a base coat + clear coat. I addition to the wasted money I received greatest dissatisfaction from dealing with people who are any excuse to avoid responsibility for that problem! |
