I enrolled in the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program at Newburgh Theological Seminary. I chose to take advantage of a discount in tuition by paying !00% of the tuition up front. Thereafter, my situation changed and I did not end up pursuing the degree. I never attended a single seminar. I never submitted a single paper for review. I never utilized a single second of Newburgh's academic talent. Later, when I notified them that I would not be continuing in the M.Div. program and requested a refund, I was told they would not return anything. So, they took accepted my money, never had to perform a single service and now don't think it is fair to return anything to me. Charge me a small administrative fee for setting me up in their system? Fine. But they seem to think they are morally entitled to keep all my tuition. That's not fair. Is this how you want to be treated? |

It sounds to me that you have never attended any kind of educational institution. There is not a single university in the world that will allow you to register and then refund your money because you never showed up for class. Education is a two-way commitment. The school cannot make you get off the couch and do your work. Do you think you are moral to take advantage of a school's discounted rate? Then six months or a year later because you are lazy and don't want to do any work and you start crying like a baby you want the school to refund your money? Grow up. It sounds like you took advantage of this fine school. In your own words, "I never attended a single seminar, " "I never submitted a single paper." "I never submitted a single paper for review." " I never utilized a single second of Newburgh's academic talent." Why not? Why did you register and then waste the school's time? I spent over two year's in a university. I did not complete the degree program. They did not refund my money. It's not their fault that I did't finish with them. I spent about fourteen months with Newburgh and completed a very important degree that has been a great blessing and help to my life. The degree was very helpful to me in being called to pastor a larger church. The school was fair to me all the way. They provided
advisors Monday through Friday. The tuition was very reasonable. The program of study was excellent. Newburgh Theological Seminary was fair to me. I attended the seminary graduation and worship and met the most wonderful people on the planet. The entire student body, faculty and administration were gracious, incredible people. I was not a great student before attending Newburgh. They helped me to become a better student of the Word. This has tremendously helped me in my pastoral ministry. Newburgh is fair and will treat you right. They will give you every opportunity to be succesful in your degree studies. However, you will need to do the work. You will need to order the books, do the papers and assignments. If you will do your part as a student, Newburgh will do their part. |

I see you posted this same complaint on ripoffreport.com. You obviously have some kind of personal grudge with NTS. When you pay tuition, you go to school, plain and simple. NTS has a great educational program and they are accredited by the Transworld Accrediting Commission International. Short of an emergency, most universities don't refund tuition simply because you don't attend. |
