NetSpend Metabank Class Action Suit against Netspend! Internet |
15th of Sep, 2011 by User677343 |
On July 1 during a trip to Ogden, Utah my husband had his Debit card number from Netspend stolen and someone made a new card and from June 30 to July 1 went on a buying spree in 4 Walmarts in New Mexico buying gift cards for $200. They depleted our account. Thankfully I had reserved our hotel room and prepaid before we came. We were stranded with no money and had to return port haste from our trip. We called Netspend on July 2 and told them to cancel the card. We then did everything they told us to do. We also on our own called the Walmart stores and they had videos of the man buying the card. We informed Netspend and they rudely told us they would do the investigation! We called the police department in the City where it occured and they said Netspend would have to call Walmart to get the video. We email all this info to Netspend and all they did was give us the run around for 80 days. Kept saying they did not have all the information we faxed three times and emailed 10 times and called 500 times. We were finally told that they would not reimburse us because we used our card for the hotel room in Ogden!!!NOw what in the world did that have to do with a thief taking all our money from the account in New Mexico?? You never get to talk to anyone in authority, they outsource the customer service and you talk with people that have no intelligence what so ever! We live on Soical Security and could not afford to lose this money. I complied with everything Netspend asked. Nespend is not a bank that anyone that depends on Retirement should ever put their money into. It is a fraudulent Bank, with ridulous fees and policies. BE AWARE they prey on the elderly and the poor who cannot otherwise get a regular bank account. The government shuld do something to stop them. This is my email if anyone is interested in a class action lawsuit. |
