National Magazine Exchange NME, United Readers Service Magazine Selling. Scum Bags Lakewood Ohio |

I am another victim of the telemarketer soliciting for mag sales via a great prize or sweeps contest that I do not recall entering. They say its because I'm a preferred credit card holder and the same thing happens to me as it has to all of you. I stupidly gave account info over the phone and now they wont let me cancel.
My problem company is with the United readers Service, LTD( United readers service, INC- also online), and Nathan Bounik Enterprises the authorized dealer of the company that called me. To Maria of Dayton, Ohio who also filed on this site --here is help to cancel your subscription 1- check the scam-rpts for the Ramada Vacation Packages (under reports with pictures) 2- you should find a report by Christina of NY and another from a TX girl that used the Florida laws to get refunded all of their money back. The same laws apply to NME because they are based in Florida. 3-Check out the Florida State Telemarketing Law--you are not required to pay information, no written contract-the verbal consent over the phone is not valid , 4- find the Florida State Dept of Consumer Affairs online and file your complaint
I think the web link is : http://800helpfla.com/complaint.html or call 800-435-7352 I think you should also send NME a certified letter stating to cancel your order, include your name, physical address, phone number, order # or confirmation # thay gave you if you have it. You don't need to state why-none of their business. Also, Maria , in my case I cancelled by bank debit card and am in the process of disputing the charges, and I plan to cancel my current bank acct and open a new one. They may try to collect money by sending me a bill which I will not pay. The best thing is that they cannot report the account to collections because they do not have my Social Security Number. I hope this helps you. Act fast. I think you have 30 days from the date of purchase to file your complaint and receive a full refund. Hint: I already found it impossible to cancel the magazines ordered to come to my home by calling each magazine publishers toll free number--ironically they sent me back to the customer service people at United Readers Service that would not help me to begin with. Keep me posted on your case Yvonne
