mymightysoft
mymightysoft MYMIGHTYSOFT (as noted on my credit card statement) scam, fraud, theft, phishing for credit card numbers Internet
24th of May, 2011 by User637099
May 25, 2011 I was reading an article on my computer and switched to another website when all of a sudden a warning flashed on my screen that many viruses had invaded my computer. I clicked on my virus protection icon for microsoft internet security which is always running but nothing happened. The viruses kept comming onto my screen and my microsoft security icon disappeared from the screen. I was panic stricken. Suddenly there appeared on my screen an ad for "mymightysoft" or something similar urging me to sign up for this service to save my computer from being over run with viruses and the loss of my data, etcetera. All the time more viruses were flashing onto my screen and I was totally frightened out of my wits. In panic mode I agreed to purchase the service being offerred to rid my computer of these viruses and save my data and my computer. I in full panic mode and entered my credit card number and the other data requested, but for some reason my credit card was refused and another was requested. After entering a different credit card number, the screen flashed with a document which was apparently a receipt and an agreement to the terms of the new program but it was on my screen less than five seconds. I could not even recall what the real name of the product which I bought was nor how much it was.....there were three or four dollar prices listed on the document but I did not have time to read it. I did have presence of mind to just turn off the computer entirely. I waited about one minute and rebooted my computer. There was some gibberish on it at first then every thinkg seem to clear and the microsort security system was able to be accessed and apparently is working fine. I then checked my credit card and found that it had been charged $99.90 by MYMIGHTYSOFT. I contacted my credit card company and put this charge into a complaint so that further investigation of this charge and the circumstances will be reviewed by Chase Bank who issued me this card many, many years ago. From a quick review of this "mymightysoft" company or whatever its real name or name are, it seems that this company has several recent complaints about their activities. I my personal experience these actions were fraudulent and malicious with intent to steal my credit card identity, my money and only a tiny step away from unlawful strong-armed intimidation. My wife and I are senior citizens. We are god fearing people who have worked hard all our lives. Raised and educated four adult children through college. She, my wife, is diabetic and I've had one heart attack and am disabled from a fall which fractured five of my vertebrae forcing me to retire because I cannot sit stand or walk for more than an hour...necessary for being a teacher and practicioner of medicine and surgery for almost forty years. This person or company doesn't know what problems they could have if my panic as discribed above was indeed angina and I had had anothe heart attack. My wife and my grown children would have them in court for the rest of their lives...all are well versed in law. Thank you.
