My name is Jeremy Edwards and I recently ran across an ad to rent to own a home from a mortgage broker Alexander Barhatkov and owner/seller Jose Zapata. I have reason to believe they are related and are flipping houses all over central Florida. I decided to get an FHA mortgage and was approved to close 2/11/12 through Jeff Ballard at Goldstar Financial. The underwriter came back on the day of closing to say they didn't feel the appraisal was supported and Alexander refused to get that 2nd appraisal done and is refusing to return my $2300 escrow deposit, in addition to the $1150 in inspection/appraisal fees that were incurred. He told me to either forget FHA and go to Bank of America or I lose all the effort, time, money and the house. I also was informed that the contract I signed was supposed to include a finance contingency, it did not. The broker wrote up the contract as a cash transaction knowing and participating in the financing process with Jeff and Myself. I don't know what to do, this guy tricked me and now I cannot purchase my first home and the $5,000 I spent total for this transaction is gone....he is saying his client has millions of dollars and can afford a better attorney than me, so I will never get my money back. I need your help, because he relisted the home on the MLS and is about to do this to other people. This is a scam, please help me stop it before others get hurt.I have 100 emails to back up what I am telling you. Jeremy Edwards
