MV Transportation in Brooklyn, NY Carrier for the NYC MTA Access-A-Ride Uncommunicative management, makes you work for peanuts in unsafe conditions Br |

As a former driver for this particular company, I highly advise those looking for a job driving Access-A-Ride in New York not to bother with MV. This place has the most appalling work conditions I have ever seen! Drivers are always at the s**t end of the stick. There's either no work available long enough to get enough hours, or you'll receive a schedule that is extremely tight with no allowance for travel time whatsoever to get from one borough to the next, also not taking into account the NYC traffic. The vehicles are poorly maintained, some to the point where they are unsafe to drive, so you could spend a good amount of time at the beginning of your route switching vehicles. On top of all that, you're dealing with rude as h**l customers. Many are upset with AAR for making them late because they were picked up two hours later than their original pick up time, which is understandable. Just don't go blaming the drivers because of the common sense-lacking schedules. Dispatchers are very stupid and unprofessional. If you're running late for any of your trips, they're very rude and they scream at you through the radio. They act as though they can do your job and their's with their eyes closed! They're way too dumb to understand that you're stuck in traffic, assisting passengers, etc. The pay is a fu**ing joke! You end up working for peanuts because the pay rate is so low and your hours get shorted so much, you'll never get the necessary hours you need weekly. I ended up with a small amount of debt because of these people! Everyone in management and payroll is very uncommunicative and extremely difficult to reach when there's an issue. MV Brooklyn is fully designed to make you quit. Drivers come and go, either because they get fired for stupid s**t, or they resign because of how mistreated they are and management doesn't even care. H**l, management changes just as quickly as drivers, so no wonder the place is in shambles. A guaranteed training class is held every week for the new batch of drivers that will get treated the same way. After being treated like a slave, you're tired all the time and that makes it difficult to find a better job. If you're considering applying to this company, hopefully this report will save you the headache. This place will make your life miserable. |
