Moving 1 aka Moving One has one of the biggest scams going. The price I was quoted ended up being 3 times that amount. I refused to pay and eventually ended up paying twice the amount originally quoted. They showed up late (12 hours) at 11:30 pm. Not professional. Was supposed to wrap the furniture. Apparently soem got wrapped and some did not. I told them that I would need to store if for 2-3 months while I looked for and closed on a house. They began calling me the first week and were going to charge more for storage than originally quoted. After several weeks I tried to contact them with a delivery address and date. SURPRISE!!! All of the email addresses I had on them came back as undeliverable, phone numbers were no longer working and their web site was no longer up. I began to start contacting any lelad that I had, including the claim contact info on my contract. The Claim Dept said they did not have a contract with that company anymore and the onlly contact info they had was what I had. I finally did get an email from a"David Renard" saying that they were having trouble with their 800 and the new number was 770-866-8857. When you call that # it goes straight into voice mail, not giving a company or individuals name. I left several messages and finally this jerk, named MIKE who I had been dealing with called back. Lots of BS. After numerous emaila dn phone calls I got a date for delivery. Again, one excuse after another. almost 2 weeks later, my belongings arrived. I had told them from the minute I gave them my new address that a large truck might be too big to fit on the cul de sac. I met them in a parking lot and drove them to the house. they said they could not get the truck in there, so I had to rent a U HAul truck. When they opened the door to the trailer, there was my furniture, not wrappedi n blankets, small clearly marked fragile boxes smushed under large items. As we (I ended up helping) transfer the items from the 18 wheeler to the rental truck, I saw more and more damage and problems. When we unloaded, at least half of the items were seriously damaged. An Expensive entertainment center was broken in to three sections, gouges and cuts all over, a chair's arm was broken, two table were broken, parts of a bed were lost. As I continue to unpack, I find more and more items damaged. The driver and helper saw the damaged and I had them note it on the delivery sheet. I also spoke with this Mike guy by phone. Now after several emails and phone messages I still get no response. I finally got Mike by callin from another phone that had a different area code. I have asked several times for a claim form, only to be told just send the items damaged and their weight and they would reimburse me. This is jsu the tip of the complaints. I am going to file a claim but doubt that I will ever see anything from this. By the way when I was trying to locate them, I contacted the police and sheriff departments in Fayette County GA and Fayettteville, GA and they were well aware of the company. They have had several complaints made to them. At all costs avoid this company. It is shady, unethical and crooked!!!!!! |
