Momentum Encore/Progidy Beware Not what it is cracked up to be dallas, Texas |

In September of 2011 I contacted Momentum Credit Processing after an ad on Monster. The ad stated that Momentum is seeking to fill positions for outside sales professionals where the primary focus is visiting small to medium size business owners to deliver effective and ethical sales presentations. This position requires a highly driven, self-motivated individual committed to service and professionalism. It said it had pre-set appointements and no outdoor sales. I decided to give it a shot and call them. After talking to a recruiter for well over an hour, I was super excited. I researched the company a head of time and even asked the recruiter about some of things I found. For every objection or con i found he had a rebuttal. I was asked to send back via email some forms and I would be set up for my second interview. Which btw seems more like a way for them to look more professional. I was very excited to do the online training and go see my first appointments which I was also told my first 2 appointments know I am new and are compensated for their time. I had to complete an online all day training class which did not explain too much about the product itself but more about how to deal with objections and how to talk to customers. The object is for you go to your "first appointment', and do a 15 minute presentation on product and then get them to sign a contract to buy the credit processing system and sign up for our services. Which I do not think is a bad thing, it actually looked like a pretty good plan but i did not like the fact i was not trained on all the hidden fees and was told many times to fake it till I make it. It was also very unprofessional that I was told to keep calling into my service leader everytime we needed to discuss price or services. I brought this up many times in the 2 short days I worked there and really never got a response to the long hold times and the fact really nobody was helping me.The biggest problem was the pre-set appointements. I went to 4 businesses that all were supposed to pre-set and all of them had no idea who I was. I was able to get into one place and was there for over 2 hours. I graduated with a degree in Marketing and I know sales. This is just a fancy outdoor sales pitch. There were so many problems I had that I could literally write a book about. This may be a good fit for some but for me it was not what I signed up for. Please know what you are signing up for. |
