Mobile Media Solutions Fraudulent Cell Phone Subscription and Charges Phoenix, Arizona |
13th of Jul, 2011 by User313562 |
This company phishes for cell numbers in various ways and then uses them in fraudulent ways. A $9.99 charge will show up inadverdently on your cell phone bill for a Premium Txt Alert. When you inquire with your cell phone company they will tell you that you subscribed to a 3rd party service and they are just "passing" on the cost. It's outrageous. This charge appeared for my daughter's phone who is under age and not the owner of the account for which she could not legally give consent for the subscription. Mobile Media Solutions claims a pin number would have been texted to her phone and she would have had to go to a website and enter it in. I assured them that no such thing happened. I am sure they just were able to get her cell number and then fraudulently started assessing charges against it. It's very bothersome that Verizon would allow a 3rd party to use them in this way to perpetrate fraud on their customers. I have stopped the subscription (I think) but was totally unsuccessful in recouping any charges. I have also filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office and would very much like to see a class action suit filed against this company. |

Jonathan Koerth, Esq. is trying to start a class action suit against Mobile Media Solutions. They may be located in Phoenix, AZ or Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are completely fraudulent and in collusion with your cell phone provider who profits from allowing "third party vendors" to operate through legitimate companies. The owner of MMS is Chris Sweis. Google his name.
Jonathan Koerth can be reached at www.creditfraudlaw.com
I also have Verizon Wireless. I am considering a small claims suit against Verizon and a separate suit against MMS. If I do I will ask for the maximum my state allows plus all expenses. The judge ultimately will decide the amount when I win, but he cannot increase the amount over what I ask for in writing when the suit is filed.
Hope this helps! |

I also got ripped off by this company (Mobile Media Solutions). I asked how they got my number and they said through an online survey (never happened). I received a text message from them and replied "stop". Then received 6 more messages which were ignored. A month later there's a charge of $9.99, three times on my bill. I placed a called to them and of course there is no refund. They explained that I had to physically enter the pin number they sent me online in order for them to send the charge (never happened). There's obviously an error in their system, but they said "it is imposssible", yes, IMPOSSIBLE for their system to committ and error. That's their excuse for not refunding my $30 dollars. This company should be brought up on criminal charges. I also placed a complaint with t-mobile for dealing with them. They're a phone phishing company. This is so upsetting. I still can't believe they're allowed to get away with this. The text messages were for "Quiz4now, Cellphonez, cellerea trivia. And the numbers were 87328, 24758 and 51345. So basically, if you receive a text message from any of these numbers, it is too late and you'll be charged, even if you reply for them to stop. |
