My father and I came into this company as sweat equity owners. We were told by the majority owner Nick Lopez that he had financial investors to back this new company. Whatever hours we put into labor for building the business from the ground up Nick Lopez offered to credit me my father and family and friends who helped out. After a year and a half of sweat equity labor, we agreed that he would credit my father and me 3.06% of the company worth $1.3 Million dollars. We were told our sweat equity was worth $43,000. I was given a contract and offered the position of Vice President of the company. I was offered a monthly salary and stock to the company. After months of working and not geting paid and months of asking Nick Lopez to review the books and for stock certificates I was never allowed to review the books. We found out in court that Nick Lopez has been paying himself $5,200 per month to run the gym. I decided to pull away from the business and take Nick Lopez to small claims court in Arapahoe County. After months of court I won the case in September of 2010 and I was awarded $7,500 for past wages. I am in the process of collecting my judgment against Nick Lopez and MMA Premier Fitness and currently Nick Lopez is being charged with contempt of court. His hearing is January 5, 2011 in Arapahoe County Court. I would advise everyone to be cautions if you are asked to invest in any company Nick Lopez is involved in.
